Bio Information

Del Maxfield currently serves as the President and CEO of International Urban Ministries, Inc. (IUM) and Del Maxfield Consulting.

He is the Past CEO of the Denver Rescue Mission. In his 14 years as President/CEO, Maxfield guided DRM from a yearly budget of $125,000 to over $13 million, from 4 employees to over 150, and from one facility to six. He is not only responsible for positively influencing the structure and organizational development of the Denver Rescue Mission but numerous nonprofits and non-government organizations in the local Denver area, nationally and around the world.

Maxfield’s expertise in management spans over 35 years including the aerospace industry with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and other private companies and six years on the administrative staff at Fuller Theological Seminary from which he holds a Master of Divinity degree.


Maxfield has been widely published in national and local publications including: The Non-Profit Times, Christianity Today, Newsweek Magazine, Christian Management Report and many others.

He is the recipient of numerous awards for his work and achievements most notably Colorado Man of the Year, 1992 and the Civis Princeps Award from Regis University.

He continues to serve as a national and international management consultant, while serving on numerous boards, committees, task forces and councils where he positively affects the quality of life of thousands of poor and needy globally. Maxfield has and continues to assist organizations here in the North America and throughout the world in such places as Great Britain, Eastern and Western Europe, Central and South Africa, South Pacific, Asia.

He is currently active and extensively involved in teaching, consulting, speaking and mentoring on both a volunteer and professional basis with numerous individuals, associations and organizations. He works with many different types of non-profit organizations spending his time assisting organizational leaders in achieving their goals.

He is committed to serving the inner city poor, the needy and those who serve this population throughout the world. He has been dedicated to the needy in global communities for nearly 30 years. Del is a dedicated advocate for the oppressed of our society and is recognized throughout the world as one who approaches these challenges practically and realistically. His primary goal is to equip leaders in all areas in order to meet the continual growing challenges they face socially, economically and politically.

Personally, Maxfield was raised in the northwest, spent several years in So. California, lives in the beautiful mountains of Colorado while also spending the winter in southern Arizona. Del is a licensed private pilot and enjoys flying single engine aircraft, gliders, and aerobatic, and is an active Scuba diver.
